Riots in the City or Uprooting in the Heart

April 15, 2007

To those who have sent,

Thank you for praying for the urgent situation in Uganda. There was an uprising by the people against the Government for selling a Forest to Foreigners. Bill reports that when he started praying over the rioting, God sent rain. In Uganda, when it rains everything stops. He was sensing an agitation in the people of Lugazi town for a couple of days, but today everyone is back to normal. The Ugandan army is patrolling in the town. The power has been out for two days, which causes confusion when people can't see. God's people are praying, and the Lord is on His throne. Praise the living God, the creator of heaven and earth! It is so wonderful to serve a God who cares about His creation and is involved in the daily affairs of our lives.

The Bible states that signs and wonders will follow those who believe. Most Christians strive to get to where they are healing the sick and seeing miracles. If they ever get to that place, they will be content to spend the rest of their life there. Jesus did these things for the crowd, but He reserved the deep things of His heart for His disciples. Do you think that Jesus ever grieves that His children want His gifts but they don't want His presence? There is a deeper, richer place in God where the crowd cannot go. There is a secret and hidden kingdom reserved for those who will pay the price and not look back. There is a place of crawling right into the heart of God. It is a place of many tears, sharing in His sorrow, and being willing to walk with Him in His sufferings. Not many Christians want to leave the comforts of life to follow Him there. God is not calling us to perform signs and wonders; He is calling us to become the sign and the wonder to the world.

SEYA CONFERENCE

This week in Seya was such a week. It was a week of calling pastors and leaders to a deeper place than they have ever been before. God has put us on a quest to find those who will spend their lives to follow Jesus. They will not be the ones looking for the razz-ma-taz, the big crowds, or the honor of having their names known among men.

The Kingdom of God is God's presence with us in the here and now. God wants to dwell close to man. In the Old Testament, the presence of God was contained in a box called the Ark and carried on the backs of animals. But Jesus carried the government of God on His shoulders as a representation of man carrying the glory of God in human vessels. This week, hearts were stirred to live a life of urgency, not being laid back or casual. They Kenyan team testified of God moving so deeply in them that they would never again live a casual Christian life but would live their lives on purpose for the glory of God with a new zeal and desire to serve and love Him.

DEEP UNTO DEEP

The people were praying for God to increase His presence in their lives. Bill walked among them and laid his hand upon each one. As the light of God shot through them, they began to tremble. God was shaking loose things that were more precious than Him in their lives. As God's light increased, darkness had to flee. The people began to cry out loudly for God to fill them with more. His beauty became increasingly evident, and nothing else in the whole world mattered but Jesus. The cries were coming from the depths of their hearts. A strong move of God swept through the place.

The Word of God was planted deep into the hearts. The cries were coming from deep within each one. Deep cries unto deep. A disciple owns nothing. He only manages what is God's. They were challenged that if they seek the Kingdom of God first, God will take care of them. God is looking for those who are not satisfied with doing things for Him, but have a cry deep in their spirits to know Him.

We do not boost of ministering to thousands in the crowd. There were only 60-70 in attendance during this Seya week. Jesus ministered to crowds because they were needy, but He focused on twelve. These twelve turned the world upside down because they were able to fix their eyes on Jesus, and the world held no attraction for them. Please pray for these 60-70 that they will be steadfast and true.

Hebrews 12:1 - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Thank you for praying. Your prayers are reaching the throne of grace, and lives are being affected by your sacrifice of love. God bless you, so much. These pastors and leaders will carry this passion back to areas of hopelessness in Gulu, Koboko, Sudan. Pray that the fire of God's love will ignite through Uganda, Kenya, and Sudan. Pray for strength and anointing on their lives. Ask God for the harvest. This is an area in the world where the harvest truly is ripe. Pray for more laborers to walk away from the comfortable life and follow the heart of God into the darkness so His glorious light can shine forth. There are still places that have not heard that there is hope in Jesus.

We pray blessings upon you in Jesus' name,

Pastor Bill and Linda Campbell
