The Glory of God Will Cover The Earth

Greetings from Uganda,

We are having a wonderful time here in Uganda. I have spent much of my first week here with my children from Faith and Hope Children’s Homes. God blessed us with 44 70# boxes for the children and pastors including rice for feeding the village, and training materials for pastors, as well as many gifts from the sponsors, and clothes, shoes, and vitamins for the children. It was amazing because with 83 children, there was plenty for all and plenty to share with neighbors and friends. Thank you everyone for providing the gifts and shipping costs. Some of the children at Hope Children’s Home received their first pair of real shoes. Family members and villagers said they could not believe that “these children are putting on shoes.” The joy and excitement was beautiful as girls received dolls and boys received balls, baseball mitts, and trucks. I was able to share with the children about how much their heavenly Father loves them. At Faith Home, the children were giving some of their outgrown clothes to the neighbors who were wearing dirty, old, and torn clothes. They are learning to bless others.

We handed out Spirit filled life Bibles for youth to all of the children at Faith. They are now reading English very well. Debby took it on as her mission to raise the funds to purchase the Bibles along with nylon Bible covers. The Word of God is honey for the heart of the children. They were carefully placed their cherished possession next to their pillows on their beds. The children clapped and cheered as each one was presented with their own study Bible.

One of our friends from Minnesota and her 80 year old mother sewed beautiful pillow cases for each of the children. The fabrics were carefully chosen ensuring that each one was unique and personalized with their name embroidered on it. There was so much time, love, and thoughtfulness put into this work. The children were delighted with their beautiful gifts.

Pastor Bill, Pastors Joel and Barnabas from Mukono, Pastor Bosco from Gulu, and Aloysius our wonderful driver are in Kimalewa, Kenya this week. A big part of what Prepare the Way is all about it equipping people for the works of the kingdom. It is really exciting to see how the leaders of the Bible centers are reaching out to other areas beyond their own and demonstrating the love of Christ.

Bill is the speaker for the seminar each morning. Lunch follows the service. In the afternoon one of the team pastors shares the message that

God has put on his hearts. They are training the people to be devoted to the apostles teaching, which is sharing the Word of God, breaking bread together, and caring for each other. In the Bible when they followed these principles, the awe of God and His wonderful presence fell on everyone. The Holy Spirit was given without measure.

The pastors are requesting prayer. They have encountered a strong demonic stronghold. Day one, two mad men and one demonized woman came to disrupt the meeting. The woman even disrobed and became a hindrance.

One of the elders of the village of Kimalewa received Jesus as his Savior after Pastor Bosco preached. Others were brought to salvation. Physical healing occurred. The team was able to pray for the two mad men but not for the woman who ran away. This reminds me of what some of the disciples encountered in the Bible. On day two, 5 or 6 drunkards were present. The naked, demonized women did not come into the service, but wandered up and down the streets causing a disturbance. Bill walked up to her to pray for her. She quickly turned and fled from his presence.

Day three, Pastor Bill taught the morning seminar and Pastor Joel spoke in the afternoon. Five or six drunks committed their lives to Jesus. There will be a baptism on Saturday for all of those who come to Christ this week. About 400 people turned out for the showing of the gospel film. People have started coming to the meetings from other churches. In this town, there has been a very strong competition between the churches. Pastors have been known to pay local drunks to disrupt the services being held at other churches. For the safety of our team, they must be out of the area before it gets dark every evening. After that time, there is rival gang activity between opposing rebels and tribes. The entire town has a spirit of lasciviousness and living very immoral lives. Even the LC1, a member of the town leadership came to one of the meetings in a drunken condition. This is one of the strongholds that the Lord has revealed which needs to be broken.

Please join us in prayer. Prayer knows no boundaries. We believe God for a breakthrough. We are asking God for kingdom strategies, for the strongholds to be exposed in the light and torn down, for the oil of the Spirit to soften hardened hearts, for the Lord to come down upon this church and manifest His presence, and for His glory to cover the whole earth.

To honor the King,

Pastor Bill and Linda Campbell
