Go Into All The World
by Linda Campbell
October 1, 2007
Hi Everyone,
From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the name of the Lord is to be praised. As I am going to sleep for the night in America, the sun is just rising in Uganda. This is the time when I get to talk to Bill and hear what God is doing. Every morning Bill turns up the worship music and sings forth praises to the God who created heaven and earth. Just across the street there is a huge speaker aimed directly at our apartment. Starting at 5AM, it broadcasts prayers to Allah frequently throughout the day. This is a constant reminder to us of some of the last words of Jesus, which indicate the desire of His heart. Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” He also left this challenge with His disciples and it continues to be for us today. Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for an witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
Going to India
Many people who have prayed over us have heard the Lord say that we would go to many nations. God has opened a door for Bill and Patel to go to India for eight days leaving on October 15. Bill will be preaching in 2-3 churches and meeting with several families. Please pray for salvations, signs and wonders to follow. The signs and wonders are to show the majesty and power of Almighty God to bring the unbeliever to his knees at the foot of the cross. As Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal, even so the Lord God will show himself strong in the land of millions of false gods. The shed blood of Jesus on the cross is the power of salvation. Please pray for Bill that the light will shine forth and dispel the darkness. Please also pray for his protection.
Gospel Movies
We were unaware that the Lord was supplying all of the pieces of a particular puzzle for us until the last piece was given. At that time, He gave us clarity. People from two different countries told us we must show films about Jesus in Africa. For whatever reason, that was not something we had planned to do. Because both of these speak into our lives, we listened. God directed us to purchase a projector and some Gospel movies.
Brian and Bill told all the kids at Faith Children’s Home to go out into the neighborhood and invite a friend to a movie night. They showed Veggie Tales and The Nativity to the children. Everyone had a great time. I’m not sure that they have ever seen a movie before. They are being trained to evangelize.
Saturday evening will be a time to gather in the neighboring villagers out in Seya for a time of food and fellowship followed by worship and the viewing of “The Passion of the Christ”. Pray for the salvation of households. These are the neighbors of Hope Children’s Home.
Safari
Tomorrow Brian, Bill, Pastor Joel, and Irene leave for Gulu. They will be going through a wild game preserve and having a self made safari. They will be sleeping in a small safari hut in the preserve. Please pray for protection. The following day they will travel to Gulu for a one day pastors and leaders conference.
The Sweet Presence of the Lord Jesus
This past Sunday, Bill preached all day in a village church in Iganda (pronounced E-gong-ga) Through a gift, the Lord has blessed Prepare the Way with a durable, high quality sound system. The village church did not have electricity, but the generator quickly took care of that common problem. The music and preaching were heard clearly without the usually buzzing and echoing. Seventy people were waiting in the church when Pastor Josiah and Bill arrived. As the worship music drifted throughout the village, the church began to pack with people. As Bill preached, the Holy Spirit began to stir the hearts of the people to become desperate to have a relationship with God. They begged him to keep preaching. Many people gave their lives to the Lord, along with healings and deliverances. In the afternoon service, they spent time worshipping in God’s presence. Later, Bill shared the story of when he was at the border of Uganda/Sudan. He was near the front of the line to enter the small building to purchase his visa to enter Sudan. Well, it began to rain. As the people became wet, they started to push and shove. Bill soon realized that he was now at the back of the line. He didn’t care because he wasn’t in a big hurry. He told the people that some of them treated God like that. They were not desperate to get to know Him like those pushing their way to the front of the line. They again responded with a deep longing for God. Everyone began to worship, when suddenly Bill told everyone to be very quiet and listen for the Lord. The people were able to feel the nearness of God in a tangible way. I had to stop writing because I am feeling His presence so strong myself right now. Just thinking about the Lord, Jesus and imaging being in this group of people invited Him to come and be with me. Welcome, sweet Holy Spirit. I love Your presence.
Until All Have Heard,
