A dear friend of ours, Pastor Josiah shared this testimony with us. A certain pastor bought a piece of land in Sseya for farming. The land is located on a hill called Nemirembe. The name of this hill means “peace”, however, it knew no peace.
The pastor hired workers and brought them to the land. One day, when the pastor’s field hands were cutting down the bush, they came to a small jungle area. The villagers know this jungle as one which had been dedicated to demons and many of the people who entered it did not come out alive.
The workers determined to clear the land for their employer, entered the jungle and began to cut down the trees. Suddenly they both saw a physical demon in the form of a woman. This woman warned them not to continue to cut down the trees in “their jungle”.
That night, Ronald, one of the workers had a dream. He saw the same figure which he had seen in the forest earlier that day. Once again, the warning to stay out of the jungle area came through this demonic spirit. Ronald was even threatened with death if he disobeyed.
In the morning, the two men re-entered the jungle and again began to cut down the trees. The demonic figure appeared to Ronald and said, “I warned you not to come back.” Ronald immediately became unconscious and fell to the ground. His friend came to help him. As soon as he touched Ronald, he also lost consciousness. The villagers began to gather around the limp bodies. They declared that these men would die as they had seen others die in that jungle, including Pastor Susan’s father. They called for some pastors from Kampala to come and pray for the men. The villagers started into ritualistic activity.
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
The Kampala pastors were caught in the famous traffic jam and were greatly delayed. Pastor Josiah and Pastor Susan had just finished praying for a sick friend and were on their way home when they received a phone call from Susan’s mother requesting they come quickly to pray. When they arrived, the villagers informed them that these men were dying.
“But, you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” 1 John 2:20
The demons inside the men began to speak to Pastor Josiah. They said, “We are going to kill them because they stepped into our forest.” Pastor Josiah and Pastor Susan began to battle in prayer. After much warfare, the friend was delivered. While the spiritual battle was raging, the Kampala pastors arrived. When they saw what was going on, they became afraid and began crying, “What can we do?”
“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8b
More time passed, the warfare was intense; when suddenly Ronald opened his eyes. He was completely set free through the power of God. The Kampala pastors couldn’t believe it! The people were amazed that village pastors could reverse the curse of death against these men. Pastor Josiah, Pastor Susan, and the Christians who were present broke the curse on the land and dedicated it unto the Lord God Almighty.
“Greateris He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 1:5
The news of this miracle has spread throughout many villages surrounding Sseya. Lord, May Your Glory and Your fame spread across the earth, oh Lord!
“Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:6
Years ago, God told us that we would be given the honor of walking with some of the “champions of heaven”. He brought Pastor Josiah into our lives many years ago to join two hearts, twovisions, one purposeto see Uganda reached for the Kingdom of God. We delight in all that God is doing through our friend.
