Some of the men from the Living Word team were able to join the Faith Bible College students on a "Seed Project" which was to construct a mud house with an iron sheet roof for a widow in Lugazi. First they bought all of the needed materials-nails, plastic, poles cut from small trees in the forest, iron sheets, a wooden door and window. The men cleared the site and began to dig holes in the ground to form a 10’ x 10’ square. Next they placed poles in the holes and attached an iron sheet roof. They put in the window and the door. After a trip to the swamp, the men brought back reeds to weave between the poles similar to a basket. Lastly the walls were constructed by filling in the remaining space with clay mud which dries to form thick walls.

The precious widow was awestruck at the goodness of her God. She had been praying for years to have her own home. She had been living in a 4’ shack. The neighbors had been mocking her prayers, “Where is this God of yours and why does He not answer your prayer.” After they watched these men labor in love to bless this precious woman, they one by one began to come up to thank the pastor who organized this work. The news quickly traveled throughout the village. The mockers became silent. The main mocker was an Islamic man but after seeing to love coming form the Christians, he gave his heart to Jesus. The honor of God was established in this village!
