Saved from Sacrifice

We would like to introduce you to a four year old Ugandan girl by the name of Rosette. When Rosette’s mother was a young teen, she was forced into a marriage to a man who belonged to a tribe who actively sacrifice their firstborn children to demonic gods.

Here in Uganda, every building had a child sacrificed at the site prior to the construction. Innocent children are disappearing from their homes and are being used for sacrifices in demonic activities at a horrifying rate. It is a very heart breaking fact that requires much prayer. It is also common for the children to be sold by their own family members to the slave traders for profit. Children have their ears pierced shortly after birth to blemish them so they are not as likely to be chosen.

The girl was then sold to slave traders who took her from Namutamba District in Eastern Uganda to Arua in Northern Uganda where they drugged her with chloroform until she became unconscious. The traders then waited for the men to arrive who would take her to the witch doctors in the Congo where she would ultimately become a child sacrifice. She was raped by the slave traders in her unconscious state. After the men had fallen asleep, a drunkard came, untied the young woman, and carried her to safety.

The girl was taken to a village some distance from the husband and mother. She was found to be with child, and precious little Rosette was born.

Rosette is now two or three years old, and her mother who is a Christian is afraid that the husband or the mother might discover where Rosette is living, kidnap her, and sacrifice her. Her pastor has contacted Pastor Josiah pleading for help. The mother has been desperately looking for someone to help her by taking the child far away to a place of safety and raising her for the Lord.

Pastor James and his wife have agreed to take Rosette into their home and raise her as their own. A friend from Minneapolis wrote to us and wanted to sponsor a little girl. God has His hand of rescue on the life of Rosette.

We arranged for Rosette’s mother to bring the child to Lugazi. We wanted her mother to meet the people who would raise her daughter as their own. We took them to the home of Pastor James and Vanessa Akolo. Rosette sat on her mother’s lap for about 15 minutes. She climbed down and went over to Vanessa and climbed into her lap. The 7 year old new brother picked her up and squeezed her. It was so beautiful to watch the plan of God for Rosette unfold before my eyes. She was happy to be in her new home. The mother left the home and I followed. She cried tears of joy knowing that her daughter would be safe, loved, and tenderly cared for. I told the mother that no one would ever replace her, and that she was always welcome to come for a visit.

We would also like you to meet Precious. He is the son of Pastor Alufunzi Ziwa, who was martyred for Christ on August 12, 2011 in Uganda. Precious is living with his mother and thirty orphans in a small home. Kara and Bryan from the Living Word team committed to sponsoring him. We drove to the home where they met and fell in love with their little boy. They took many pictures of their precious little Precious to keep him in their memories.

Kathy also from the team sponsored Samuel 7 and Derik 6 two orphaned boys living with Pastor James Akolo. When she first met them, she was captivated by them and knew they had to be her little ones. It was beautiful to watch them in her warm embrace. Everyone was so excited and happy.

God is rescuing children every day. Please pray for all the orphans in Uganda.

Blessings from the Pearl of Africa,

Pastor Bill and Linda Campbell
