Steven was born in July of 1998 in northern Uganda. His father, John Bogere Kalajja died of cancer in April 2001 before Steven was three years old. Steven's father was the late brother to Pastor Josiah Ndifuna, who was left to care for Steven and his sister, Iren Kawuma because he was the eldest. The mother, Rose Nangweni was the second wife of John Kalajja. She is living with AIDS and unable to care for her children due to her poverty and health issues. Pastor Josiah brought Steven and his sister to Hope Children's Home in July of 2007. When Steven arrived at the home, he was very rude to the other children and always getting into fights. He has now been touched by the love of Christ and is a happy and loving boy. Steven attends Sseya Community School and Sseya Revival Center.
