Prophetic Dreams

The Lord has given me a couple of prophetic dreams since my arrival in Uganda. I had one dream which left me with a feeling of horror when I awoke. As usual, the Lord did not leave me without an interpretation. This time, He gave me the name of an African pastor that I was to share my dream with.

Intrepretation

Linda CampbellThe following morning, we departed for Kenya. I sat next to this same pastor with the intent of discussing my dream with him. He said, “Yes, this is what I believe the Lord wants you to know.” He then proceeded to tell me about a movement which started two years ago and has gained momentum and spread across the continent of Africa. The movement is to restore the Africans to their original belief in African gods and African angels both of which are demonic in origin. The movement is headed by African god priests who have penetrated deep into all walks of life. Many hold high ranking positions in the government. They have developed their own radio station called “African Radio”. They advertise that the African god will be pleased with the people as they sacrifice both animals and people to this god. They teach that Africa will only have peace when this foreign God is removed. The headquarters for this movement is located in California.

Kampala is the largest city and capitol of Uganda. Just 80 kilometers from Kampala is a city called Mityana. This is the targeted city to become the “holy city” where there will be no pagan God of the whites or Christians. No one will be allowed to live in this city unless they worship the African gods (demons). The chief priest of this movement lives in Uganda. There have been attempts to bewitch Christian pastors. Bananas and cows were sacrificed to demons. The food was then sent to pastors in the form of matoke and beef to put a spell on them. I didn’t hear how it turned out.

Pastors Consulting Witches

As I continued to ask questions, I discovered that it is not uncommon for pastors to seek the assistance of evil spirits by consulting witch doctors. Some seek power to see miracles in their churches especially during a crusade. Some pastors are highly competitive and seek power to weaken their opponents. Pastors take each other to court and use evil powers to win their case. I can verify that in a least one case this is true because we know of a pastor that has a woman in his church who consults demons. This pastor is a close friend of this woman and he is living a very corrupt life.

Painted in Clay

As we were driving, we saw many young boys 9-13 years. They were wearing short skirts and had they faces painted with tan colored clay. Once again, I began to ask questions. I learned that certain witch doctors go to the top of Mount Elgon to sacrifice to the demons. They sacrifice in order to get permission to circumcise any uncircumcised man or boy. These boys had recently been circumcised. It is believed that the demons are transferred to the boys during the ceremony of circumcision. I again was in complete shock. In my heart I desired to go to Mount Elgon. I was thrilled to learn that we were scheduled to go to that area the next day.

Deliverance From The Demonic

We arrived in Mount Elgon district at the Rhema Teaching and Worship Center. Our dean of Prepare the Way School of Ministry for Kenya oversees the church and one of his students planted the church with another one of his students pasturing it. The service began with an amazing time of worship with a very sweet presence of the Lord. I shared out of Revelation 4 on the reality of heaven and how we were a part of what was happening in heaven. I then shared out of Hebrews 12 about the cloud of witnesses. I heard God say there was an open heaven in this place. Bill’s message was about living holy, being separate, set apart for God’s use only. Every one that wanted to commit their lives to be set apart for God was invited to go out the back door and meet us outside for prayer. The entire church came outside. Many came to know Christ as their Lord. We were in such a heavy demonic territory that each person we prayed for needed deliverance. Co-wives were complaining of being mistreated. Men were filled with severe anger. Clothes were disappearing out of homes. In most cases, this proved to be witchcraft. People felt hatred from others. Some heard tormenting voices. One woman heard a voice telling her to leave her family and disappear. As we prayed, there was a mass wave of deliverance. As heaviness left, joy replaced sorrow. We released joy and laughter which set people free. Some had not laughed in years. The ground was covered with bodies receiving deeply from the Lord.

Darkness Must Flee

As it began to get dark, we set up to show the movie “The Nativity”. A group of men passed by us taking with them young boys to be circumcised. We heard the rhythmic beating of drums in the background. The leaders of this parade were carrying a type of palm branch and waving it as they passed us. They were attempting to disrupt us and allure people to come and watch their demonic activities. My heart was heavy for these boys that were about to be introduced to demon worship. This ceremony happens everywhere through Uganda. There are two tribes that even circumcise women. Please pray for Africa. It is such a dark continent and needs revival.

A large crowd gathered to watch the movie. It was being shown at one of the main trading centers in the subcount . People were lined up outside their shops. Others were in little clusters everywhere. There were hundreds of people watching. At the close of the film, Pastor Ishmael talked to the people in Swahili. He presented the way to eternal life. He led them to salvation, and encouraged them to attend Rhema Training Center. The light of God always causes darkness to flee. Many people committed their lives to Christ that night.

Enjoying Ants

eating antsOf course this is Africa and there is always something new to see. I noticed that a group of children had gathered around an ant hill. They were happily pulling off the wings and putting these white ants into their mouths as quickly as the ants could fly out of the mound. One little girl was trying to put them in a cup; but each time she put one in, it flew out. My mind went back many years to when I was ten years old. I had recently given my life to the Lord in a small Baptist Church. The pastor had shown a film about missionaries. The only thing I remembered was a little boy putting insects into his mouth, and when he smiled they crawled out through his teeth. That was the day the Lord called me into missions. I told Him that I would go but never to Africa. Like I said, that was many years ago. I have not yet eaten ants myself, but I did have a smile on my face as I watched the children enjoy them so much. I thank the Lord for keeping my childhood vow ever before me as I grew into adulthood and committed my life to Him again to follow Him anywhere. I joy is to lay down my life and give honor to my King.

Blessings,
Linda Campbell
