The words of Jesus were “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” He never turned them away. He always had great compassion for them. Even when He was tired or hungry himself, He always reached out to love these little ones. He modeled what He wanted His disciples of all generations to become. This includes us today.
We would like to introduce you to the LOVE HOMES of Prepare the Way Ministry. We have several wonderful pastors who have taken orphans into their homes and have loved them like their own children. In Uganda, it is very challenging to bring additional children to the home. First of all, the homes are very small, usually one or two rooms. Also the income of the average home is very minimal, usually 50-100 dollars a month. The budget is already stretched about as far as it can stretch. What does a pastor do when a child is dumped at his doorstep? Our pastor friends have demonstrated the words of Jesus by reaching out to these orphaned children and trusting God to supply their needs.
God has spoken to our hearts! He has told us that it is time to share their need with those who may be willing to help these children. By doing so, you will be adding a child to your family. They will truly capture your heart, and you will capture theirs as well.
In the Love Homes, the children will continue to live in the families with their pastors. The monthly support of $45.00 given by the sponsor will go directly to the pastor by Prepare the Way Ministry staff. If you chose to give $50.00 a month the extra will go toward blessing the Pastor and his family. These pastors have already proven themselves to be trustworthy men of God with high integrity. God has already entrusted our friends with these children, and you as a sponsor will come along side to help. The pastor will in turn use the money to pay for the school fees, medical costs, food, etc of the child.
Prepare the Way Ministry will continue to assess the home situations. We will be a part of the lives of these children. The sponsors can send gifts and will receive letters from the children. I have gone to each home and found it to be a wonderful place. Most of the homes are in need of bunk beds, linens, and more clothes. The love is abundant and the children are very happy.
The first home that we would like to highlight is PASTOR BARNABAS AND NAOMI MWESIGA. Pastor Barnabas has been part of Prepare the Way Ministry for years. He is one of the instructors for Prepare the Way School of Ministry in Sseya. He carries a strong anointing on his life. In fact, he is one of my favorite interpreters. When I am speaking, he is receiving the message, and then passing it on. Pastor Bill was preaching one time and Pastor Barnabas was interpreting. Suddenly Barnabas was gone. He had fallen to his face on the floor to seek God. This is the kind of man that is heading this Love Home. Pastor Barnabas is always smiling. He is gently, kind, and so loving. Barnabas and Naomi have two children of their own; Price and Shammah (God is present).
This picture was taken outside of the family home.
The four beautiful additions to their home are:
OBED TUSIIME
Obed was born in 1994, and he is 14 years old. He was born sometime in 1994. When Obed was only three years old, his father disowned him. The grandmother brought him to Barnabas and Naomi knowing that they would love and care for him. His mother died in 2007. Obed is in Primary 6. He is a bright and happy young man. He has a gentle spirit and is a great help to the family.
SARAH NABWIRE
Sarah was born in 2000, and she is 8 years old. Her parents are both elderly. The father is an alcoholic. He was injured and left crippled. Because the parents are elderly, they are unable to dig in the garden. They are not able to support themselves or their child. They are usually begging for food. They gave Sarah to Pastor Barnabas. Sarah is 8 years old and in Primary 4.
EUNICE BIRUNGI
Eunice was born in 1994, and she is 14 years old. She is in Primary 6. Her parents divorced when she was two, and she has not seen her mother since that time. The father is an old man and being unable to care for the child any longer, he brought her to live with the Mwesiga family.
ANNA TWONGIREWE
Anna was born in 1991, and she is 17 years old. She has completed Senior 4 but has a desire to finish Senior 6. Anna comes from deep within the village. Her mother died in 1993. At that time, the father left Anna with the grandparents and disappeared. The grandparents are elderly and brought Anna to Pastor Barnabas to care for her. Due to finances, Anna has not been able to continue her studies. The person sponsoring Anna will have a short term commitment of two years and then she will be independent.
Please follow this link to the sponsor page of Prepare The Way Ministry to sponsor either one of these children or another child in need of a sponsor. You can also donate towards bunk beds, shipping of clothing, or linens. You can make a child’s dream come true.
