“SET THE CAPTIVES FREE” - JESUS

Each time we go to Uganda, the Lord gives us something from His heart regarding His plan for us for that season of time. Last year, He said, “My people don’t understand the Holy Spirit. Help them to know Him.” This time, God wanted me to understand what it means to be bound by Satan. He literally sent us to Uganda to set the captives free.

SPREAD THE LIGHT

Dr. Tom, one of the leaders from Faith Bible College sent me this word of encouragement. “As I read your e-mail, I was reminded of a little something the Lord dropped into my heart. He said, ‘Do you know how fast darkness travels?’ My response was, ‘No, how fast?’ The Lord said, ‘At the speed of light! Darkness leaves as fast as light comes.’ So my encouraging word to you is to keep spreading the light.

BREAKING STRONGHOLDS

I was speaking in a church in Mukono on deliverance. While I was speaking, my eyes were being drawn to a certain woman in the crowd. She had the weirdest eyes! They were slanted with deep darkness in them. I kept wondering if she was a witch doctor, or at least under the influence of witchcraft. I hoped she wouldn’t leave before I had a chance to pray for her. I explained just how a stronghold starts and develops in one’s mind and eventually becomes a controlling force in one’s life. As a group, we repented and many were being set free of lifetime hindrances.

I started praying for people and coming against the spirits that bound them when suddenly this woman was standing before me asking for prayer. I asked her if she had ever been to a witch doctor. I have found that getting someone to repent and renounce any witchcraft involvement in their lives is a key part of them being set free. She denied ever having gone. In my spirit, I knew that she was not being honest with me, so I prayed for her just as if she had said “yes”. Again in my spirit, I felt that she had been set free even though her eyes still seemed dark.

RECOGNIZING THE COUNTERFEIT

The following week, the pasto r of the church told me that the woman gave her testimony in church. The question about having visited a witch doctor shocked her, and she denied it out of guilt. She knew that God was trying to get her attention, and He was talking to her. She had been planning to take her mingling stick to a witch doctor to have it blessed that very afternoon after church. God spoke to her heart, and she received freedom and deliverance rather than going to receive the counterfeit of the enemy. DARKNESS LEAVES AS FAST AS LIGHT COMES!

HOPE CHILDREN MINISTER IN LUGAZI

Bill was asked to be the speaker for all three Sunday services at Deliverance Church, which is the largest church in Lugazi. The pastor is a strong leader and is building godly character within his people. Our friend, Sharef, has been volunteering his time to train the children from Hope Children’s Home on how to minister in worship. He brought them all in from the village to the town of Lugazi to do a skit and sing worship songs that morning. This is the first time they have ever done anything like this. It was wonderful and such a good experience for them. God is doing great things in our kid’s lives.

Each service built on the previous one to stir up a hunger in the hearts for becoming people who would desire God’s presence. At the close of the evening service, the people came forward crying out to know God. Passion and intensity filled us as we prayed for everyone present. God was working deep within each heart.

THE HOLY SPIRIT FELL UPON THEM 

The pastor came forward to say that God had given him a word that He wanted to fill even the children with His Holy Spirit. As the people came forward for prayer the Pastor began to pray. Something from heaven fell on the people as some starting receiving the Holy Spirit. Several from our team joined us as we began to lay hands on everyone. Praying for the children was so beautiful. Their little faces became so sweet, almost angelic as they softly fell under the presence of the Lord. Mothers brought their little tiny children and even their babies to receive a touch from God. It is the heart of Jesus for the children to come. He demonstrated His great love for them by touching their hearts with the finger of God. We asked Him to set them apart for His use only.

PREPARING AND TRAINING A PEOPLE FOR HIMSELF

Some of the young adults and even the older adults were excitedly jumping, trembling, sobbing, crying, or shaking as God came upon them. Others were on their faces crying. Shrieks were heard as God delivered others. As the holiness of God took over their lives, the darkness fled sometimes with a loud voice. No one was untouched. God brought “a little bit of heaven” to earth, and the people were not able to stand on their feet because His glory came. People were lingering at the altar wanting to be close to God. Their hearts were wide open and they wanted to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Bill and I both prayed for some of the people at least three times. I could no longer walk upright because of the glorious presence of the Lord. So much of what was happening was being done without the touch of human hands. The Lord has reserved the glory for Himself for He alone is worthy. He is preparing a people for Himself all over the earth. He is looking for those who have no agenda but to “Know the Lord”.

PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD

The cry of our hearts is to see God’s glory spread throughout the earth, to see darkness flee as the light comes forth, to be a part of PREPARING THE WAY for King Jesus, to experience the miraculous, and to become a partner with the God.

Matthew 10:7-8 “The Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons!”

Let the Kingdom come, not in part but in fullness.
