BlogsAwakening of the HeartMarch 18, 2008 -
Read all blogs Each morning we meet at 8:00 for a Bible study. The study has been fairly well attended. It was interesting because the other guest speaker and I team taught that first day. We both jumped in as we felt the Lord’s promptings. It went well though it was outside of the tradition of the church. I found out later that is caused much frustration for my host. The people are so hungry for life. They recognize that they don’t have it, yet they are told that they do. This week has already challenged all of our hearts to lean more into Jesus. In the morning Bible studies we have been looking at the effects of the cross on those that are saved. The Holy Spirit has quickening me to take the Passion Week out of the traditional celebration into a deep examination and awakening of the heart. This evening, we had our first breakthrough in the service. God was challenging each person to take up their cross. He was also asking them to seek for a breakthrough in their own lives. I gave an invitation to those who wanted to commit to discipleship to come forward after dismissal for more prayer. My host grabbed my hand and took me to the exit and made me shake hands as everyone left. I still had some opportunity to pray but sensed resistance from my host. By the way, he is a very kind and loving man who just does not quite know how to handle me. We are on good terms and becoming great friends. Leave a comment
