HOPE CHILDREN'S HOME SSEYA, UGANDA
Tom is the first born in his family. His father, Agasa Nyakyo, died of AIDS on the 2nd of September 2005 when Tom was 7 years old. The mother, Grace Mwesige, is also sickly wiht AIDS and unable to care for her children. Tom has one brother and one sister. The sister is Susan Nesime who also lives at Hope Children's Home. Tom was living with his elderly grandmother, Annah Aboth who was also unable to care for his needs. Annah brought Tom to Hope Children's Home on the 21st of December 2006. He was dirty, unhappy, and without joy. He is now a happy and loving child.
Tom is from the village of Nakaseeta and the Nyankole tribe. He attends Sseya Community School. He loves to sing and dance at Sseya Revival Church where he is pastored by Josiah and Annet Ndifuna.
